Somalia for Refugees: A Living Hell on Earth
Overview
Somalia, declared to have been in civil war and considered a failed state for years, currently faces the militant group al-Shabab, which is creating a mass refugee crisis and preventing Somalia from fixing its damaged infrastructure. Kenya, the UN and other organizations are overwhelmed by the size of this complex emergency, struggling to fix short-term crises while also trying to nullify the long-term crises by mending infrastructure. Overwhelmed, they are also trying to help the vast number of refugees who are affected by it, and having trouble fixing this problem too.
